One of my favorite chapters in the Bible is Psalm 119. Our pastor challenged us to read it through this week in preparation for his final message in an excellent series called “Bible Reading for Dummies”. Every time I read this chapter I find something new and exciting. I wanted to share what God showed me this week as I read through this amazing Psalm. So, here are 35 reasons you’ll find in Psalm 119 to love your Bible:

1. It keeps us clean (v.9)

2. It guards against sin (vv.11, 33-34)

3. It is full of wondrous insight (v.18)

4. It is our counselor (v.24)

5. It is our life (vv. 25, 37, 50, 93, 107, 154-156)

6. It gives us strength (v.28)

7. It gives us a proper perspective on material and eternal things (vv. 36-37)

8. It guards our testimonies against reproach (v. 39)

9. It provides answers for skeptics (vv. 41-43)

18. It will be forever preserved (vv. 89, 152)

19. It is immeasurably perfect (v. 96)

20. It is sweeter than honey (v. 103)

21. It is our guiding light (v. 105)

24. It develops a healthy fear of God (vv. 118-120)
